Fall Colors Knitting Cruise
October 14 - 23, 2010
Knit With Color
We will be aboard Royal Caribbean's "Explorer of the Seas" an amazingly large and luxurious cruise ship. The cruise will be 9 days in length, October 14 to October 23, 2010. We’ll be just in time to see the beautiful fall colors on the east coast of the United States. We will be leaving from, and returning to, the Cape Liberty Cruise Port, New Jersey. Our ports of call will be: Portland, ME; Bar Harbor, ME; Saint John, NB; Halifax, NS and Boston, MA. For more information about the ports of call, click here.
We are in the process of planning some exciting shore trips, one of the stops that has been confirmed is visiting Lucy Neatby's studio in Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia. Lucy has become a knitting legend, she is talented colorful and quirky. Her classes are fun and personally I could listen to her talk about knitting for hours. We are also planning another exciting stop in Halifax . . . more details will be announced later.
During our trip we will have three at-sea days in which you can take knitting classes if you wish. We are very lucky to have Ana Petrova (petrova.com) and Cindy Fite (ilovetoknit.com) joining us as teachers. The specific content of these classes is now being planned. When we have more information on these, we will list them on the cruise blog.
Both Ana & Cindy love to knit and love to teach knitting techniques. Whichever classes you take, you will come away with exciting new ideas and skills. Do not worry if you are a beginner or a very experienced knitter. There will be something for everyone. These two talented teachers, share many decades of knitting. From them you will learn tips and tricks, ones you may never have seen anywhere else.
Of course, there will be LOTS of knitting time. The ship has many lounge areas, so you can sit relax and knit. You may knit with others, or have some quiet time to yourself.
We have started an email distribution list so we can notify everyone when there is something new to learn about the cruise. If you would like to be added, email Joanne Conklin who is organizing all of this fun at: firstname.lastname@example.org If you would like to arrive a day or two before the cruise starts, we will be arranging a group rate at a nearby hotel. More on that later when the details have been worked out.
